Let’s face it, with the new year comes some thought about how to improve something in our lives. Typical thought processes lead to resolutions that can reflect a desire to improve something, such as health, fitness, attitude, growing a business, or increasing income.

Sticking with resolutions can be really hard, but one thing that is of utmost importance is to make a commitment! Oprah once said ““Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life because you become what you believe.” Mindset can be everything, so make sure yours is ready for any new goal you want to achieve.

Be realistic. Do your homework, The old saying “If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is” is one of the truest thoughts ever expressed! Start with small changes and build on them.

Write it/them down. Writing information down creates a sense of accountability for ourselves and reinforces our ability to remember and focus. After you document them, then make a plan. Initial preparation paves the way for the journey!

Seek out advice from a trusted source that has a proven record of success! Keep a coach or mentor close while creating new habits and ways of doing things.

As with any journey, you will encounter bumps in the road or detours. Be flexible. Don’t allow those “road blocks” to alter your goal. Remind yourself of your commitment, review your plan, and jump back on the wagon!

Use reminders to keep you in bounds. Track your progress and reward yourself for small victories!

Stay in the present and remember your “why”, or your reasons for wanting to make changes. Those changes will ultimately become habits that will help you realize your goals!
